Focusing on small positive things boosts feelings of joy and safety.
Spring is in full swing and we may be experiencing a few changes. With change, uncertainty may arise and make us unase, triggering anxious feelings of fear for the future.
A usefull technique to bring our focus back is glimmer hunting, a term coined by Deb Dana. Glimmer hunting is the conscious search for positive moments and beautiful things like: the smell of our favorite food; the smile of a kid playing with a pet; a beautiful flower we find in our local garden. These moments are cues of safety that counteract anxiety triggers like uncertainty.
This month, I invite you to practice glimmer hunting and find confort in these precious, but often unnoticed, moments.
